Ping D&AD Project

The brief for this D&AD project was to create and advertise a service using 5g that benefits a community, and as such the Ping concept was made. The youth of Britain are losing more social centres due to budget cuts and thus losing opportunities to meet other like minded individuals. Ping would be the update that brings social centres to the online world with 5g providing new and interesting opportunities for the youth of Britain.

Through research I identified three technologies that the youth of Britain had shown great interest in and based Ping events around them. They would be hosted at sites such as existing social clubs that have been repurposed since their closure.

The Ping app would use the 5G service that will 'Ping' nearby events and other users of the app, allowing the user to connect with other people with similar interests.
